What is MicroFireX?
MicroFireX (MFX) is a compact automatic fire extinguisher enhanced by nanotechnology. Unlike conventional extinguishers, MFX suppresses flames through a chemical reaction. Nano-sized particles immediately interrupt the fire’s chain reaction.
It activates at 170°C, suppresses the fire in 1–2 seconds, requires no electrical connection and leaves no residue. Its adhesive backing makes installation easy—an always-present safety shield.

The defining feature of S-type (third-generation) aerosol, compared with conventional suppression systems and the earlier K-type aerosols, is its use of strontium nitrate (Sr(NO₃)₂) as the primary oxidiser. MicroFireX goes a step further: the S-type aerosol is reinforced with FK5-1-12.
The by-products released after suppression are stable, have low water solubility and are non-conductive and non-corrosive, which makes MicroFireX well suited to electrical panels, server rooms and sensitive laboratory equipment.
Working principle and suppression mechanism
Chemical interruption
Nano-sized strontium and potassium particles released into the air bind, at a molecular level, to the free radicals (H•, OH•, O•) that sustain combustion, chemically breaking the fire’s chain reaction.
Physical cooling
An endothermic (heat-absorbing) reaction rapidly draws heat from the flame and cools the surrounding space.
FK5-1-12 reinforcement
As it vaporises, FK5-1-12 draws heat from the flame and suppresses the combustion reaction, adding an electronics-safe, residue-free layer of suppression.

Lithium-ion battery fires: response in 1 second
S-type aerosol suppression is designed to stop thermal-runaway fires in enclosed lithium-ion battery packs of up to 17 kWh within seconds. With a design density of 60 g/m³, our compact 40-gram module (2 MFX units) blocked even severe battery fires at their earliest stage in laboratory testing.
