Products / Extover®

Extover® is an environmentally responsible specialist extinguishing granulate developed to address lithium-ion battery and metal fires.

EXTOVER® – Extinguishing with Glass
Non-combustible · 100% mineral content
Extover® is a new and specialist fire-prevention and extinguishing material manufactured from waste glass using a dedicated process. It is 100% mineral and does not harm nature. Once the burning surface is covered with Extover®, the particles displace oxygen and separate it from the fuel.
Like glass, Extover® melts at a certain temperature. It absorbs a large amount of heat as the melt forms, cooling the fire while creating an impermeable layer over the combustible material. Reaction with oxygen is effectively prevented.

Extover’s extinguishing effect
Fuel, oxygen and heat are the basic requirements for a fire, and all three must be present in the correct proportions. Every firefighting method deprives combustion of one or more of these requirements. EXTOVER covers the fire load, displaces oxygen and separates it from the fuel. Like glass, it melts at a certain temperature. The granulate absorbs a large amount of heat as melting energy, cooling the fire and forming an impermeable cover over the fire load. Reaction with oxygen is prevented. Its special granulate blend, combined with a porous and particularly large grain surface, binds liquids effectively. Gases and vapours also accumulate on the surface of the EXTOVER granules and can be disposed of in bound form.
